According to PEOPLE, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have broken up. Unfortunately, no further information or any comments by the stars were provided.

In the year 2007, the couple, Witherspoon, 33, and Gyllenhaal, 28, appeared together in the movie Rendition. After that costarring there spread rumors, that the two celebs were dating in real life.

A year later, in 2008, this information got confirmation. This was mainly proved during Bastille Day holiday in Paris, when Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal were spending a Saturday walking together, hand in hand, calling in bazaar stalls, and eating out, as it was reported. Before that, the couple had been caught in Marrakech.

Before that fall, the actress made it clear in her interview to Vogue that she was absolutely happy in her family life and said Gyllenhaal showed himself as a very supportive person.

In April, earlier this year, went for a holiday to the Southern California desert, where they spend nice time together and did look happy when attending the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

Even last month the situation looked very stable and nothing could tell about the forthcoming separation of the two. Witherspoon was telling InStyle that they had a farmhouse where they spend time together growing veggies and breeding chickens.

Reese Witherspoon was awarded Oscar in the year 2006 as Best Actress for starring in Walk the Line in the role of June Carter Cash. The actress was married to Ryan Phillippe, she starred with in Cruel Intentions, for seven years. They got divorced in 2006. Witherspoon has two children with her ex-husband Phillippe, Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6.

Last year Witherspoon played in the movie Four Christmases together with Vince Vaughn. The movie tells a story about a couple broke up because of all the pressure and tension that were imposed on them by their families.
