Brittany Spears Granted Permission from Court to Auction Dress for Haiti

Brittany Spears smiled as she went to court on Friday to seek permission to auction one of her used dresses to donate to the Haiti relief fund. Accompanied by her father, Jaime, Brittany respectfully asked the court’s permission to auction off a dress that she wore during the 2008 MTV Video Music awards. That was a good year for Brittany, as she won 3 awards. It has not been released which of the 2 silver outfits she wore during the show will be auctioned. Nor is it clear when the auction will take place or how it will be held.

This court visit had been widely speculated to be the one in which Brittany was to find out if she was free from her father’s conservatorship rule or not. But that was not what it was about at all. The request to auction the dress was approved by Commissioner Reva Goetz.

While they were there, permission was obtained to dispose of more things that are not useful to Brittany or her estate any longer. Just what these items were and how they might be disposed of was not immediately available.

This may not have been the total reason that Brittany and her father appeared in court. It was reported that the Commissioner wanted to see for herself just how Brittany, now 28 years old, was adjusting. It has been 2 years since her father was put in charge of her and her affairs and the Commissioner wanted a first hand look at how Brittany was doing now.

According to all reports, Brittany has really cleaned up her act in the last 2 years since her father took over. Even though there was a lot of speculation at the time about deviousness on the part of her father, it seems that everyone was wrong about that. Brittany has definitely flourished under his care.

Britney Spears Prefers L.A. Hotel to Her Own Home

After completing her successful 8 month world tour “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” late last year, Britney Spears came home to Los Angeles. However, instead of going to her home, she opted to check into the elegant Mondrian Hotel. Supposedly, she did this because she just loves having a lot of people around her. She has been constantly seen in the hotel during the last couple of months.
A source spoke with Life and Style about Britney, 28 years old, and her need to be around people. This source stated that Britney misses the atmosphere of busy hotels when the tour ends. She is friendly, interested in everyone, and just loves being surrounded by people. According to this source, Britney had started talking to one of the guests and, jokingly, offered to sing at her wedding.

Another thing that Britney loves about the hotel is the Agua Spa and fitness center which is located within it. She has been spending a lot of time in the center working out to keep her new body in shape.

A different source told Life and Style that Britney incorporates some fun into her workout. According to this source, Britney is obsessed with the animated television show, Family Guy. She was performing some impressions of baby Stewie while in the gym at the hotel.

Britney even ordered some chicken wings while doing her workout and had requested that they be delivered to the gym. This definitely raised some eyebrows because who orders chicken wings to eat while in the middle of a workout? In addition, she requested that the buffalo sauce be replaced with sweet chili.

Eventually Britney will probably head back to her own home, but for now, she is happy in her hotel environment and it looks as if she plans to continue enjoying it for awhile yet.

Britney Commented on Miming Row

Britney Spears has fought back the miming row that has to do with her first tour in Australia.

Spears reported that some reporters had told her they loved it but some did not. However, the singer said she had gone to Australia because of her fans, whom she respect and appreciate.

Britney was quite upset when some of her Australian fans left shortly after the beginning of the concert that took place at Perth’s Burswood Dome. Australian media supposed it was connected with the fact that the singer was synching and the overall performance was rather dull.

As promoter Paul Dainty reported, Spears was really disappointed with such claims. He himself said the reports were absolute lie and therefore had nothing to do with reality.

He mentioned that the reports made him mad as they were ready to put up with any reviews good or bad but provided they were true, what could not be said about that situation when everything was made up.

Since the celebrity was frustrated with such turn of the events, her devoted fans tried to back her up. According to the star’s spokesman, there were thousands of messages aimed at cheering Britney up.

Since her arrival in Australia last week the celebrity has been dragged into controversy about her lip-synching, although nobody hides that the singer mimes at the show.

Virginia Judge, the fair trade minister for the state of New South Wales, set the debate by saying that it was necessary for concert tickets to have disclaimers about whether some parts of the concert were recorded before and mimed on the stage.

In reply to this, Mr Dainty objected saying the information was announced and available on the web that parts of the concert were lip-synched.

Anyway, Britney’s first concert within the tour was attended by over 17,000 fans, who paid AUS$200-$1500 (£110-£830) for a ticket.
